For over two decades, Kaushal Prajapati has worked as a chemist in the Mount Laurel, NJ, area. Since 2015, he has served in leadership roles at Hikma Pharmaceuticals, where he currently oversees projects as a company manager. Alongside his professional pursuits in Mount Laurel, NJ, Kaushal Prajapati maintains membership in the India Temple Association, which serves the Hindu community in Central Jersey.
In addition to providing a place of worship, the India Temple Association (ITA) offers various programs and activities to help people of all ages learn more about Hindu religion and culture. The association also provides community spaces to help members celebrate joyful occasions and observe solemn events.
For younger temple members, the ITA oversees Balvihar classes, which teach pre-k through eighth-grade students about a range of topics, including Hinduism and Indian history. The curriculum also focuses on yoga, prayers, Hindu celebrations, and Vedic values.
One of the ITA's founding members, Narendra Amin, also offers a creative art workshop for young people. The workshop instructs youth in various artistic mediums while also teaching them about religion and history. Other youth offerings at the ITA include a scholarship program that provides renewable academic scholarships for high school seniors who are temple members.
Along with its youth programs, the ITA oversees several adult programs and activities. These include yoga classes and a Bhagavad Gita study group. In addition, the ITA offers a program focused on promoting the health and welfare of temple members aged 50 years and up.
